NYT Article: Robert Frank, Valuing the Image Over the Object
I have just taken some pics with my new xt1, attached the cable and right clicked on xt1 on the 'my computer tab' here i selected 'import pictures and video', then i get the message 'no pictures or video found'. they are there in the camera but i really dont know what to do, my old canon 5d3 automatically uploaded images as soon as i plugged in the usb cable.
I'm sure i can do it, i mean surely its possible, but its all new and im a bit befuddled as to how to do this.
We're tearing our hair out trying to find an answer as to how to update my wife's X-E2 with the latest firmware. It is already on v3.0 and we've download the latest v4.0 software to a freshly in camera formatted card. We've tried downloading via Mac and Windows and tried more than one card but still no luck. We've also made sure that file name is correct - FWUP0004.DAT. Each time we get the message "New firmware not be found. Turn off camera."
Any assistance would be gratefully accepted. Many thanks.
does anyone have any experience with the Lens Tab
X-T1, 55-200mm @200mm, 1/500 @ f18, ISO 1000, 4 shots.
With all this light this morning I wanted to see what happens stopped down at a relatively high ISO -- decently sharp all over and no discernible diffraction limiting. Nice lens.
My X-E2 does not respect the minimum shutter speed defined int the AUTO ISO settings after the firmware upgrade to 4.0. There was only one AUTO ISO mode in the old firmware, but the minimum shutter speed worked without issues. Now I've got 3 AUTO ISO modes, but none of them respects the settings.
Have you observed such problem?
I'm looking for base plates with battery access and with a tripod socket sufficiently removed to fit a Peak Design standard tripod plate and allow easy battery removal. Does any one have any recommendations?
Pretty cool story. With the amount of film shooters in the PNW it's unlikely this camera dates from the 50s when it was likely originally made, but it sure would be cool to see what is on the exposed roll. Doubtful anything would survive the exposure to water etc. as the roll and camera back were damaged/punctured.

I recently got an X-e2 for backpacking, kayaking, and bike touring (though I'm quickly falling in love with the system so it will get more use then just that I have no doubt). During those actititys I use a peak design capture clip, which requires you to use the capture clips quick release plate.
With the tripod socket being off center it puts the plate over the battery door. So I was looking at possibly getting a RRS base plate (no grip and no portrait orientation plate) or the Fuji hand grip.
My question is to anyone who uses those with the capture clip.
Do the plates (RRS or Fuji) move the tripod socket far enough for the capture clips qr plate not to interfere with the battery door? (as in you do not have to take the qr plate off to change the battery/card)
It seems it's official. It was announced here in Japan too that delivery of the X-Pro2 will be delayed until sometime in the beginning of March.
I'm hoping the X70 comes out on time. That would help keep me entertained until the X-Pro2 finally comes out.

I just got word from B&H that my pre-ordered X70 is shipping today !!!
On a Friday ?!?!!? Thanks B&H, won't see it till Monday at the earliest. :-(
My very first investment in m42 lenses arrived ten minutes ago after a long and uneventful trip from Manitoba, Canada. Inside were two boxes, wrapped in brown paper and remarkably small for the telephotos they were advertised to be. A 135mm and a 200mm. I admit it--feeling kinda stoked. And my K&F M42 arrived yesterday.
Did I mention these things are small? Oh, and they have blades, I flashed a light inside and thought "no way, I'm not even going try". It's a beautiful tactile response rotating the preset switch and seeing those blades effortlessly open and close.
Going out to shoot.
PS: I guess m39 or L39 lenses would be even smaller due to the adapter.
Very interesting information about development of the Acros simulation for the S-Pro2 -- and why it won't be coming to other bodies as a firmware update...
The Newest Film Simulation "ACROS" | X Stories | FUJIFILM X
The Acros is one of the things most exciting to me about the Pro2. That's film I used to shoot with. Loved it.
...I'm switching to a Kidding. It's a real man's camera.
EDIT: this news has now been superceded by another announcement from Fujifilm USA. See below.
Revised X-Pro2 Sales Embargo – EXTENDED EMBARGO DATE UNTIL FEBRUARY 25, 2016.
Due to a delay in shipping from the factory, we are revising the Sales Embargo date for the X-Pro2 Body. In an effort to have inventory available at all of our retailers at the same time for the launch, we are EXTENDING the following Sales Embargo.
Got my X100T yesterday and was out shooting today - with electronic shutter. Can anyone help me with why the background, especially at the top, is so strangely blurred? Is it the electronic shutter? Both the JPEG and RAW-File has the same thing. And its in many of the pictures i took. (This image is OOC with Classic Chrome) Thanks!
I'm looking forward to buy this badass... cammon' Fuji, We cannot wait anymore for it, when are you going to release this beast?
Peace and love
Thank you for everyone who contributed to January's FX Monthly it was our best month yet! With 130 posts on the topic of water. Again it was fantastic to see the different interpretations of the theme and to showcase the talent with have on this forum.
As February is the month of Valentine's Day I have chose the rather cliched theme of love. This can be the word love or something which represents this. The only limit is your imagination.
It would be a help if you give your picture a title so to help us understand your point of view but it's not compulsory. Name the camera and lens used - if you can remember - because it's interesting to know but, again, it's not compulsory just helpful.
The rules are deliberately loose so go out and shoot with this month's theme in mind or start searching back through those pictures you took oh-so long ago that you'd forgotten about and start posting! It doesn't have to be your best ever shot and it's not a competition so you might surprise the rest of us and yourself - it's just about sharing some pictures, seeing others' take on the topic, and enjoying it!
Any equipment as long as it and the photo complies with the forum's rules of either camera or lens or both made by Fuji.
This is not a competition. Please post freely - especially newcomers and please remember there's no judging or criticism (good or bad) in this thread. So, if you'd like to show your acknowledgement or appreciation that someone has posted their picture then instead of posting a comment please use the "like" button that you can find at the bottom right of every post.
Please post away and I look forward to seeing your interesting interpretations of this month's theme.
I met up with former students from my photography class to do some lightpainting and go out for Pizza
I brought the X-T10 with me because of the flippy screen and the wifi remote app so that I could do some stuff myself and take pictures doing so.
Here's one a student painted with a green LED band for joggers.
So I'm going to go into a bit of a Fuji firmware review and do a bit of
testing and share my thoughts on what Fuji has given us, hope you enjoy and
feel free to comment and share below.
I was persuaded to buy this goddam Apple computer. I managed to download the firmware upgrade for my X-E2, but now I can't figure out how to transfer the downloaded data file to the data card. Can someone tell me what to do?
My PC was so intuitive. Everything on the Mac OS is opaquely coded in "cute" and uninformative labels. Why did I let myself spend my money on this extravagant piece of unmanageable junk?
Thanks for your help!
I like the shape and weight of XF 27mm, but often it renders details in the way they look a bit "plastic" comparing to XF 35mm or XF 23mm.
I've found interesting XF 27mm review on Photozone.de that explains that problem.
Looks like JPEG conversion applies significant distortion correction. That's why IQ got reduced, and probably why I often see that "plastic" look.
Then I realized X-T1 uses LMO (Lens Modulation Optimizer), that can be also turned OFF.
I don't have XF 27mm anymore, so wonder if anyone noticed difference on this lens with LMO turned ON/OFF.
Ok so i am only using the small flash that comes with the camera, but i'm tearing my hair out trying to get the darn thing to work, i do have a yongnuo transmitter and flash arrving soon and i've seen they work on the x-t1 but i sure would appreciate camera settings so i can learn new techniques.
thanks muchly in advance.
Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone else has the same issue.
I updated the firmware to 4.3 today and the macro mode has gone from the menu, i've tried to find it but alas, it seems to have disappeared.
any thoughts ?
I'm off to Iceland next week and am looking to buy some Ziploc type bags to put my X-T1 into when returning indoors from the cold. I can't find them locally so will have to mail order.
The largest lens I will have fitted is the 18-55.
Here is my question: which size bag do I need to take the camera and 18-55?
