Anyone find any screen protectors for the X-E2? Or at least compatible sizes? I currently have a GGS screen protector on my X-E1, and I am looking for something of similar quality.

I heard from somewhere that the LCD Glass in the XE-2 it tougher and more scratch resistant than on the X-E1. We may not need to protect it. Does anyone else out there know about this?

Hmmm I haven't heard that about the LCD before. Nothing in the manual says anything about the LCD material. Anyone?

I just saw this in the X-E2 brochure...

Adoption of special reinforced glass not only protects the screen from scratches, but also reduces reflections for improved viewing comfort.

And PhotographyReview says:  "And the protective cover on the LCD was upgraded to more scratch-resistant tempered glass."

So, it is more scratch resistant .... again up to the individual whether or not to use some type of extra protectant

I had heard it was like Corning Gorilla Glass.  Not quite sapphire, but pretty resistant.  I have used Giottos Schott glass protectors prior to this on my M9 (not the M9P which had reinforced glass) and the X-Pro1.  But I think I'll be traveling light with the X-E2.

I just cut extra protectors from an iPad screen protector. Works like a champ and I get quite a few out of one piece.

The giottos 5Diii screen protector seems to be about the right size looking at the specs (I just typed them all into a spreadsheet)...

I got an Expert Shield for my X-E1. Seems to work okay. Fairly easy to apply if you don't fat finger it (like I did). Great customer service.

Thanks Cug! How does your Expert Shield look now? If your fat finger caused any problems we haven't already seen to, do get in touch.

It does look good. It's produces a bit more glare than the screen only, and it's just ever so slightly larger than the screen (less than half a millimeter), but so far I think it will do exactly what it is supposed to do. And it goes on without any bubbling or problems as long as it's done properly. You guys were great helping with my (partly self made) issues. I'll get one for the X-E2 as soon as it's out.

How does the lifetime warranty work? If the screen protector gets any sort of blemish, Expert Shield will replace it?

That's exactly how it works. Usually once fitted correctly you won't have any problems - but if you do we're always here for you. Like a loyal dog, except you don't need to feed us or pay vet bills.

I'm also looking for one for my X-E2 similar to the GGS 3" one I have on my X10. I like the sturdiness and clarity of the glass. In the meantime I've cut out a piece of an old, unused iPhone screen protector. Does anyone know of other cameras that have the same size/aspect ratio as our X-E2 screen?

I received the following response from B & H Photo to my question about screen protectors for my new X-E2:

"There is a Giottos Aegis Professional Screen Protector available for cameras like the Fujifilm X-E2. The Fujifilm X-E2 features a 3.0" LCD Screen.

This is a screen protector I would recommend that you look into.

 "

I'm just not sure I want anything to come between the clarity of the super sharp screen and my eyes.

Out of hundreds of camera models we stock, non of them are exactly the same aspect ratio as the X-E2 I'm afraid.

I'm just not sure I want anything to come between the clarity of the super sharp screen and my eyes.

I could boast about how ours are the most optically clear on the market - but why not just return the screen protector you go for if there's any deterioration in clarity?

I have a SP8300 on my X-E1 and it will not fit my X-E2!!! Forget about it.

I bought this and tried to clean it. I could not get rid of the smudges so I returned it. The fit was fine. I would not recommend it!

I just got this Martin Fields screen protector. It was the only one Amazon US had for an X-E2.

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

It is a 100% EXACT fit. So precise, that it took me about a dozen tries to get it perfectly seated inside the slightly recessed LCD screen, and I'm pretty much a veteran at applying these things! Once I got it right, it is nearly impossible to see and seems to be very clear and pretty "smudge proof".
