EDIT:

Here's what data I'll need when you send the PM (or email robert@x100forum.com.)

Name
Ship to address (international is ok)
Phone
Email address

What items you want to order. Orders for x100, x10 and other cameras are also accepted!

NOTES: no deposit required. Shipping is free to USA. No sales tax except to Texas. Prices will be at the official retail which is not yet known. Cancel or revise anytime, just PM or email me.

---------

As many of you know, I managed internet sales for an Austin-based camera store at the time the X100 development was announced.

I implemented the store's first ever pre-order program. We were months ahead of any other dealer. Many forum members ended up acquiring their X100S from me, including Chris Gachot and many others.

I left that store right after the X100 started shipping, but the forum now has an opportunity with another local store in the Dallas area. They are also one of the few independent (family owned) camera stores left...

In any case, I can now offer pre-orders for the X-Pro1 system thru this store (Arlington Camera in Arlington, TX.)

If you are wanting personal service to manage your purchase, and like supporting independent stores instead of the impersonal alternatives at the big mail order companies, please drop me a PM or email robert@x100forum.com.

Of course, we always support orders thru forum sponsors Adorama, B&H, and Amazon if that is your preference. Click on any of these links below before placing your order with them. Your support is appreciated. :)

Made the call, thanks for the tip. I guess it's just a list at this time. They didn't ask for my card or anything.

Robert, I tried to PM but I think your box is full. It stated you weren't accepting any new PMs.

My information was in their system from a prior sale. They just didn't take CC info yet. The only thing that was weird is that I had to spell the camera name a few times which made me feel I was either first in line or that I didn't get onto the right list.

Thanks for your help. John Gellings

Thanks John, box is cleared. If you can send me the info it would be appreciated. I am the one that manages the list, so this is important. :)

Robert,

I wasn't involve here at the forum when the X100 pre-order was organized. Could you clarify a couple things for me please?

Do you expect this dealer to be among the first to get shippable stock of the new X? I would be disappointed if a later order placed via Amazon or Adorama as examples were filled well before these. My concern would be that the supplier would tend to provide stock to their usual high-volume vendors first.

I presume that the retail price would be in the same ballpark as what is ultimately offered by the volume online retailers. Is that a fair assumption?

If things go the way they did for the x100, which I assume they will, all dealers will get some at the same time. We had no problem getting regular shipments just like the big guys. Keep in mind, the big guys might get 1000 pre orders, we will fewer; but this means you will be talking directly to the person who orders them, not to an hourly customer service person in Seattle who might have been answering questions about iPods and cases right before he takes your call.:)

When you get yours depends on many factors, such as who drops off the list when product arrives (that always happens) etc, etc.

Retail price, no shipping, no tax unless you are in Texas.

All I need is a list of what you want, your ship to address, and your phone and email. The phone will be your account number; all communication is generally thru email.

As more items are announced with part numbers (flash, case, etc.) I'll post that information.

Thanks :)

Robert, is your former store in Austin (I'm pretty sure I know which one) taking preorders for this one? Thanks

I have requested that my professional camera dealer gets me a Fuji XPro1 asap.
Just like they did my X100, I got one of the first cameras in UK.

I have ordered the body and the 60mm lens. I will add more as and when I feel I need more lenses. I fancy the 14mm when it is released (21mm FF equivalent) but also I'd be tempted by the 35mm f1.4 lens as well.
In 2013 they promise a zoom but I'm not sure what focal length that will be. When the lens range becomes more certain I'll make my decisions on extra lenses.

Still learning after all these years!
