I never really use bags unless I'm traveling or attending a specific event where I need my full kit. For standard shooting I keep a specific lens on and shoot for the day. With some upcoming vacations coming up, I wanted to find a good travel back for the X-Pro1. Wondering what you're using?

For my X100, I feel the Manfrotto Nano VII was the absolutely perfect bag. Camera fit in their snug with the lens hood, and the pouch in the front had just enough room to squeeze in an extra battery, and memory card. I'm not concerned with bumps/drop protection as I am with overall scratches, weather, and ease of carrying.

For the X-Pro1, I recently picked up a Domke FXA. Seemed like the smallest bag I could find, but IMO it's still a bit too big.

And here's the inside. Picture doesn't really show just how much extra room is left. I could easily cram the x100, batteries, charger, and extra cards in it.


Anyone have anything smaller? Ideally I'm looking for something that will fit just the X-Pro1, 18, and 35mm lenses. That's it.

I have a Billingham Hadley Small. Will fit just about what you want, but pricey. I personally wouldn't go any other way though.

I received my Crumpler 4 Million Dollar Home Shoulder Bag today, and it fits my X-Pro1 perfectly!

I gravitate between a Wotancraft Paratrooper and my Belstaff 554 Colonial. Both fairly rugged and doesn't scream "Camera Bag !" very low key in my side of town.

I got the think tank retrospective 5.
It is a bit bigger than the domke you mention, more comparable to the hadley small mentionned above, but cheaper, and it seemed to me, just as good.

It holds thexpro, and 2 lenses, or the xpro with the 60mm attached with hood plus the 35mm lens. And has a front pocket for small acessories.

I liked it a lot.
I had to choose a new bag since the xpro wil not fit correctly inside the gariz bag I got (very nice too). that one will be used exclusively for the x100.

The retrospective 5 will also allow for having the xpro with lens and the x100, whch my be my "usual" configuration (I dislike changing lenses on the fly, outside)

Think Tank Retrospective 5 (Pinestone color). I carry my X-Pro1, X100, and FX 18 and 35mm lenses. Works very well. $137.50.

Lowepro Passport Sling. I love it for travel, hiking or a walk around town. You can fit more into the bag than you can imagine. Best bag to date for me. I use it more than any other because it's so easy to get the camera out fast.

. Due out in May. It will hold my X-Pro1, the 3 lenses, my X100 and my iPad. I have the Retrospective 30 and it is brilliant. It doesnt look like a camera bag and has every feture you could wish for. Not as nickable as the Billingham and not as pretty either but perfect for me

Billingham for me too... although they don't have to be pricey. I recently picked up 2 vintage Billinghams for £35 each on eBay. I have to say I think they look much better a little battle-scarred. However, Damien is right about them being nickable. The reason I was looking to buy those in the first place is because my Hadley Small got stolen recently with an X100 inside!

) which works out very well. I can fit my x-pro, r2a, two spare lenses, about 10 rolls of film, flash and other odds and ends along with my 15" laptop.

With that said though, I love the thinktanks, but until they come out with one that will fit my macbook, I'll be sticking with my snoop.

Take a look at the Tamrac Zuma 4 bag. It's a small bag that accommodates my XPro, 3 lenses, an EF-20 flash as well as my iPad and associated X-Pro accessories like batteries, chargers, filters, etc. It's a nice little package. Billingham hadley pro for me, I would of went for the small (b/c it smaller lol) but im a college student, so i went with the pro for room for notebooks & small text books

No, I'm trying to think smaller too. The x-pro, my moleskin, my headphones, and my laptop. Things I have to carry with me everyday to work and back. Like I said, the think tanks look awesome and perfect sized IF they would make it wide and deep enough for a 15" macbook. The width could be bare minimum. (photo of my current bag setup coming in at 12lbs)

The cameras can stand on their sides reducing the width, and with proper flaps two or even three lenses can stack on top of each other reducing space even more....
I think I've spent way to much time thinking of what the perfect back would be for me....

As for just something to hold your camera, why not a full case? If not, Crumpler has some great small cameras bags... something like the pleasure dome:

Tim - do you use an insert with the Belstaff 554? I think the smaller 556 model suits me better but both bags are hard to come by in the USA.

You posted this and I was pretty stoked. Cruised over to Best Buy and picked one up. Unfortunately, I have no idea how you fit the 18mm lens in there. Do you not use lens hoods? Even with the 35 and no hood on, I can't zip up the side pocket once the 18 is in there.

You posted this and I was pretty stoked. Cruised over to Best Buy and picked one up. Unfortunately, I have no idea how you fit the 18mm lens in there. Do you not use lens hoods? Even with the 35 and no hood on, I can't zip up the side pocket once the 18 is in there.

You got me there -- hoods have to go somewhere else. But 18mm does indeed fit in one of the side pockets on my bag, at least. Even with caps on!

Think Tank Retrospective 5 (Pinestone color) for me too. This bag is able to carry my X-Pro1 with 35/1.4 attached, and 18/2 and 60/2.4 lenses, plus Gorillapod, spare battery, cards, and others accessories... I really love this bag....

Perfect fit for my kit. Padded and still manages to look like a regular messenger bag. Just needs a velcro closure on the front to be perfect. And it is cheaper than some alternatives. Don't know how water tight the fabric is, but I carry a plastic baggie folded up in case.
