OK, You all have done it to me too! I had to pick up the 35 1.4 as well due to all the praise everyone has given it. I decided to fill out the trio I hear most about - the 16, 35 & 56. To be honest I don't know which I like best and would call my favorite. Between the 16 and 35 it would be a VERY tough decision. I took the 35 out this weekend for a trial run. I think I may have hit a 100% keeper day this first day out. It is a fantastic lens.

I generally prefer zoom lenses for the versatility they provide with the 10-24, 18-55, 55-200, & 100-400 I can shoot pretty much anything wherever I decide to go. But now with this trio I am becoming a "Prime" shooter - the images these three lenses produce are amazing. The IQ between zooms and primes is still a real thing. The zooms have improved a great deal, but they have not caught up the the primes.

Now to control my GAS those 90 f2 shooters need to keep quiet. If they don't my trio might grow! I know "The sharpest lens out there", but my pocketbook just says "No". :)

Nobody mentioning the 23/1.4? You should have that Kirstybell! Next to that amazing 90/2... obviously!

Got to say Patrick, I think it’s brilliant.
    Sharp with beautiful Bokeh.
Out of all the Fuji lenses I’ve had I would rate it the best, along with the 56

I love my 35 - it was the first Fuji X lens that I purchased in 2013.
The AF noise can be a pain when shooting posed people images, but is otherwise a non-issue.
Has a pretty close focusing distance, also, which I really appreciate in any lens.

Thanks fo the recommendation. Nothing I’ve tried so far surpasses the 35, including the 23, though I know you guys love it. All I would add to my collection now is a 40 1.4 voigtlander.

I’m quite surprised by that Kirsty, did you try the 23 f1.4?

I did. Nice, but not as nice. In the end I’m pretty happy with the 35 focal length and love that lens!

    I have the 35mm 1.4, love it!
Have just bought the 23mm f2 to complement the X-Pro 2, so I have 2x prime, the fantastic 18-55mm and the 50-140(?) that came free with my Xe1 (camera is long gone).

Our 35mm f/1.4 was our first Fuji lens back in the day of our X-Pro1. It's still a favorite.
I poached this shot of my better-half while she puts the X-T1 and 23 f/1.4 combo to good use.
