90mm f2 with 16mm extension tube as a better macro alternative?

    That's probably a bit high given the price of the Canon and Nikon 100/105 1:1 macro lenses.
    Then again, the 90 f2 is the same sort of money as a Canon 135F2L so -

    If you are talking real money, the Zeiss 100mm f2 Makro is hard to beat both for its astoundingly good optical capability (arguably the best lens Zeiss makes) and the fact that it is an f2 lens and a macro lens. Very good portrait lens, too.
