    Some experiments with 3$ led lights in the background - quite interesting results...

    That's pretty cool...how far behind the subject were the lights placed? Shooting wide open?

    Yes at F1.4. The lights were maybe 60cm/2ft behind the subject, which itself was at the closest focus distance. If you move the leds closer to the camera, the circles will get larger, fainter and overlap more
