There is a firmware update that will be released in the next couple of weeks to address various small bugs. More than likely this will rectify the reset issue that a few customers have experienced.

    EDIT:

    The update fixes:

    • menu reset bug
    • improved image quality when shooting long exposures
other minor bugs are also fixed...

I hope that Fuji fixes the following in the next update:

1 - Expand the exposure bracketing from 3 to 7 or other user-adjustable number.
2 - Offer a panoramic setting like in the X-T1 (it works great!).
3 - Be able to add ISO setting to the "Q" menu like on the X-T1.

Other than that, I love my new X-Pro2. Looking forward to the X-T2 and X200T introductions.

    Cheers.

My guess is they might address those in a later update; this one is probably entirely for bug fixes...

I expressed my concerns to Fujifilm New Jersey USA this afternoon by phone and he asked how much time I had on my return window as I have been considering returning the camera. I said I am not sure if it goes by ship date or pre-order date and I would likely need to make that call by March 22. He said he had no firm guarantees, but to check as early as this Friday. He asked not to hold him to it, but he did acknowledge the issues I had been having are in the hands on engineers in Japan and they have been working on the WiFi and settings issue for a week. I have not experienced the black frame issue and that one sounded more concerning to him along with my 35mm F1.4 and 18-55 missing focus with the OVF like I explained it to him. I will be checking back with him at weeks end after more testing. They do read these forums; don't participate, but do read the comments.

Fuji has always fixed bugs and has been very good with upgrades. I am confident they will take care of this. No way they leave serious flaws in the flagship camera.

Problems like this usually take a lot of work to fix. I'm sure they are scrambling.

I agree...I got my camera Friday and my wife grabbed it and wrapped it and said it's and Easter present :), so I won't be able to worry about it for about 10 days...maybe for the best :)

I really like the fact that Fuji addresses the needed firmware updates but also brings new features, not many brands do. Kudos!

I sure hope this X-Pro2 firmware update adds the tilting lcd screen and a larger EVF!

This new body is a beauty and has been awesome aside from the issues I have experienced. I can only imagine how much more awesome it will be when I am able to just run it without worries. Regardless of the forthcoming FW update, I will be shipping mine out to Fuji NJ this morning to make sure everything is kosher hardware-wise. Much like others have said, bugs are to be expected. While it is a pain, I don't mind as I knew full well what I had signed up for by preordering.

Could be the 'reset' bug which caused your custom settings to disappear.

    A 24mp X-E3 or X-T20 would be nice.

If they manage 1 and 2 then I would consider getting the XPro2.

I guess that Frankie should send his X-Pro2 back and go buy a Canon or Nikon and never had to worry about it again. Lol!

But seriously, I have had my X-Pro2 two weeks now. Luckily, I have not experienced any of the report problems after shooting about 2,000 frames.

    Cheers.

Since I owned an original X100 back in the day, I've lived thru the many FW updates and saw first-hand how hard Fuji worked to deliver updates as needed. They didn't wait until it was financially beneficial or wait until a new model was ready to release.

There have been fewer FW updates needed since then and I've purchased X-E1, X-E2, X100S, X100T and now X-Pro2. I've enjoyed each one and am glad I didn't wait until every quirk (bug?) was identified and fixed.
