We moved into this house at the end of February, 2018. All spring and summer, I wondered about the bush growing at the corner of my garage. Nobody I asked seemed to know what it is.
Then autumn came, and the bush put on her fanciest red dress and became the Cinderella of the yard. A gorgeous Burning Bush. The leaves are dropping now, and I just noticed these cute little berries or seeds popping out.
A thing of beauty. Autumn is my favorite time of the year.

I planted a very small one of those in the backyard several years ago, and now it's about 3' tall. But so far, it has not displayed that "hot" red color in the fall, just sort of a burgundy/bronze, with a few red leaves here and there, although it does produce a few of those little fruits. It's not located in deep shade... light shade for part of the day and full sun at other times, but I'm thinking it should've been placed in a sunnier spot.

My sister’s bush is in more shade and it doesn’t get nearly as red as mine. You are probably right that it needs to be in more sun.
