I really love Capture One Pro 10 on PC and it's ways to work with Raf, but there is one thing I can't fix with this software: purple fringing!
I used the tool in the lens tab to the max with the photos where I had purple fringing but it doesn't take them away.
So is this tool intended to work with only some selected lenses or all of them because why putting this option when it doesn't work?

Unfortunately you have found a weak spot for C1. Compared with other raw processors C1 does poorly with CA. I find it's only a few select photos where it lets me down but in those instances I switch to a different converter that handles CA better. Let Phase One know and maybe we can get them to improve it.

I've had problems with C1 as well with chromatic aberration, multiple times. The only solution I've found is to uncheck that option. CA gone. That, or move to Photoshop for me.

For this particular problem LR is indeed much better, but I loose too much in details and sharpness, that's why I stick to C1.
The solution I have found is too manually reduce saturation of all purple and pinkish fringing hand picked colors

Yep tried it (Beta 2), purple fringing is working but not enough, as for CA removal it's still totally useless, I hope by beta they mean they will actually make it better in the final version

Have you hit 'analyse' for a custom CA removal?

..and did you report your findings?

Still waiting for Channel Mixer from PhaseOne. Three years and counting!
This is starting to cripple my use of COP.

If PhaseOne cannot allow a person/people to build plugins via a SDK so COP can do specialist work and they are unwilling to provide a simple control (I can even provide them with sample code) to allow IR and UV photos to be easily processed then I am starting to think that their behaviour is more Adobe-like that the company they used to be.

Thanks I missed the Analyze thingy it does reduce CA but like for fringing only part of it.
I searched in the beta program website where I can report but couldn't find it

    Hi Johnathan,

Like any potential new feature, its always balanced against market demand, potential man hours to implement and ROI.

As for plug ins - we haven't stated anywhere that we won't build a plug in architecture. As always we never pre announce forthcoming features in any capacity.

    Thanks David.
If a plugin API was available then this really opens up the product.
Likewise the use of the Channel Mixer functionality is something that is hardly ever spoken about by photographers until they find it. It is like the Colour Editor in COP. It is a real lightbulb moment when you see it working.

Having worked extensively in the past with Bibble and later Corel on the development and testing of new plugins I am very aware that 3rd party plugins can be a nightmare as well for the test process.
That said having that API in Bibble3/4/5 and then AfterShot Pro has changed the product from a me2 product into a leading edge product that I still use.

    Hello,
    I just tried C1 with X-E3 & 23mm 1:2 …
Very disappointed about CA on this lens and also about C1 treatment.
Actually, C1 has no effect on the green fringes of some backgrounds, it's even worse sometimes when CA is on.
It seems that C1 does not have presets for Fuji Lens as they do for Nikon or Canon (and it works well)
    That's a pity…
