    Well that's somewhat grim.

    Except for Mr. Whippy.

And I appreciate mom, who can still find the energy to dress with a bit of style in a world that is crumbling into a struggle for survival.

A glimpse into our future if we continue let the 1%ers have their way (?)

Reminds me of that Top Gear episode where they went to the Army Urban warfare school and were shot as they drive through the mock town. Maybe My Whippy is an IED.

Thanks for sharing, I like the first image you have some great captures on your flickr :) Can I ask how you find the 35mm focal length? Im looking to get either the 23mm or 35mm but can't decide...street, landscapes and and general home photography are the main tasks it will have to encounter. If you had to have one prime lens what would you choose

Mr Whippy drives around selling soft (whipped) ice cream and similar. There used to be quite a lot, and of different brands but now it's just the odd one here and there. In the days when kids played outside a lot, the sight and the chimes of the ice cream van would send them all scattering inside to ask if they could have an ice cream! :)

I remember that..in summer holidays it would cost me a fortune until I remembered what my grandad used to say to me..." ahh thats a bloody shame the ice cream man is ringing his bell....sorry kids he has run out of ice cream again"

They make more money going around industrial estates on hot days here than they do from kids in the street. I'm not sure they are even allowed to drive around suburban streets any more and on the weekends you only ever see them parked at places like markets or the beach.

I'd have the 35 1.4. Lovely Bokeh plus if it was good enough for Henri Cartier Brendon, it'll do me!

Nice quality photos of a depressing scene that is sadly a sign of our times and the neglect by councils. They should do as they have in other areas, allow homeless people to move into these houses and rennovate them under council control so they have a place to live rather than leave them to rot before selling them off for a pittance to some property landlord to carry out superficial work and rent out out!!
Apologies for my mini rant but we see too many cases of this type of thing - great combo for shooting and also my favourite street combo (when not travelling very light).

There's a report out today that there's more than 200,000 empty homes in England alone. Yet we are told there is a housing crisis and we need build 250,000 new homes per year. Something doesn't add up.

    Agree Lansky & Jimmy Allan.
We should start a 'Comon Sense Party'.
PS...when filming a BBC spy thriller I blew up one of these ...looks like there are still plenty left for a series 2 !
