I am really happy with my 35 f/2. It makes a great lens to stay on the camera for family photography. Here is a quick shot from last weekend with this lens on the X-T2 at f/2.

My Christmas came early today, as met mum in Jessops where she bought the 35mm f2 then gave it straight to me and said, well it`s not worth wrapping up so have it now. Got to say I do like the look of it and it`s now on the X-T2, can`t wait till I can get out with it.

Did you consider the Fuji shop UK and buy refurbished. The 35mm is currently in stock at £299

I'd take it back to Jessops and save yourself (or your mum) about £100. They come from Fuji, have a full 12 months warranty and are indistinguishable from new.

Too late as it`s now on my X-T2 and will be staying on it for a very very long time. Not fussed about the money saving as I`d already had it saved for it :)

Fair enough, the advice may help others. I've bought most of my Fuji lenses refurbished from Fuji UK, saved myself quite a lot. Or at least that's how I justify it to myself. Spending hundreds, even at refurbished prices, isn't exactly "saving".

All my Fuji kit and other stuff has come from Jessops in town, so I thought it right to get the 35mm f2 from them as too many times I have got from online so wanted to help the Jessops store out.

    I agree with your strategy.
Otherwise in a few years there will be just a single warehouse in each country that sends out the goods with no chance to get a hands on.

In town we used to have a Jessops store, but they sadly closed down because folk were buying online. So all my Canon kit came from Wex online, after getting fed up with the weight I got a better quote from Jessops and thought, right I will stay with them now, plus the bus stop is right outside from the store :)

A valid point, and certainly agree for local stores. But a multi million pound operation owned by a celebrity multimillionaire. I'd sooner have the money in my pocket that his :)

Must admit not having been in a Peter Jones Jessops, has the customer service got better under his leadership? The ones that went into receivership were awful. Populated by people who didn't know one end of a camera from another.
I might give my local Jessops a try, they may have changed.

When they had the old store I got to say, they were not good at all as many a time I`d go in and staff were talking to each other so I walked out, then they closed down. Since Peter saved Jessops, the staff in the new small in town are very helpful, they quoted £1,200 for three lens so went to them as Wex were lower. The staff are clued up and know what they are talking about and don`t mug the buyer off. In the end for the three lenses I got over £1,300, as they said and put them down as mint.

Actually I found them even worse than that. As you say they didn't actually know anything but they thought they did! I remember once I asked if they had a Nikon en-el15 battery. The answer was "no - but we do have the en-el14". Not a great deal of help given it's for a completely different camera. :)
