OK, so I changed my mind and will use the 10-24 in stead of the planned 56

How do you "combine" simulations? I usually desaturate Velvia quite a bit, when I dare use it.

Shot it in RAF and converted in-camera using different films.
Imported each JPG as overlayed layers and spent way too long tweaking tweaking curves, saturation and opacity to try for the feeling I had when I was out there this foggy morning.

I've settled for my EL Nikkor 50/2.8 enlarger lens, which should offer some challenge - at least in the ergonomics department. I have it mounted on an M42 helicoid to provide focusing, which will go a little way past infinity, and leaves the aperture scale underneath the lens. The helicoid control ring is awkwardly too close to the camera body, and of course manual focus is compulsory. I consider myself suitably challenged!

Flickr seems to be broken atm, so here is a direct upload of my shot for day 1:

In London, we have April showers on the first of May, since it is a Bank Holiday and the Uk weather is ... what it is. Now I am at the computer uploading this, the sun is out, naturally.

[edit: Aperture at f/8, 1/240, ISO1600, on my X-Pro1. Light post-processing in Darktable.]

Not to be outdone, there is a steady drizzle here in the PNW.

That's what I like about the PNW - it always makes me feel better about the weather in the UK.

If you need to adjust an image on the phone, Snapseed will do just about anything you need for online posting. If you really need layers, try image blender.

If he is using an XT1, maybe he used the tilt screen. Or was on his back. :)
