    Just missed the sun going down over the open Atlantic tonight but turned in the opposite direction to see the final meanders of the Ogmore River and pink sunset hues above the hills to the north. An unusual viewpoint because the sea mostly gets the attention here. Also a rare outing for the 50-140mm.

    Lovely image - great colors! Just goes to prove once again that you should always look behind you to se if there is and interesting image there.

    Yes, spring tides can cover the green area on the other side of the river. At those times the difference between high and low water in the Bristol Channel can be about 36 feet.
