No, this is not in a distressed community. On either side are beautiful, old but well restored and maintained structures.

I am not a flower person. My father can grow beautiful healthy flowers on concrete but I did not inherit that trait. In fact some plant nursery's have a photo of me near the cash register and a warning not to sell live flowers to this individual. However, I like the amount of detail and textures you folks are getting in some of these B&W flower shots. Removal of color allows the viewer to focus on the shapes and textures.

Stairs always intrigue me. They appear to be an open invitation to explore whatever is at the top, or bottom, that cannot be seen. Sometimes I just have to climb them to see what I might be missing by not doing so.

I'm curious to know more about the conversion. I have that lens (along with the 28, 45 and 90). I still have a pair of G2 bodies, but I don't know if they'll get used anytime soon. I think it would be tough for me to give up the instant gratification of digital. That said, I do like the Contax G lenses, and the thought of the clunky adapters is not getting me excited.

Yesterday I visited my great, great, great, great, great grandfathers grave. It was my first visit. I found it through "Find a Grave". He was born in 1713, died in 1792. He was a spy for the Patriots during the Revolutionary War. His home was used to jail Tories. He supplied the boats to Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys so that the could cross Lake Champlain to attack Fort Ticonderoga. He reconned Fort Ticonderoga pretending to be a farmer looking for lost cows. His name was Asa Douglas. I also visited the farm his son Captain William Douglas founded. THe house burned down several years ago. A big thank you to these ancestors for giving us what we have today.
