Scenes from small town parade + grain truck at inland grain terminal...
Details of planks between the tracks a bit past the train depot at the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I had just finished taking this photo when a guy walked up to me and asked how far the cars would go past this point. At first I was going to give him a "smart a.." answer but then I realized that he might not be familiar with railroads. I pointed out that in order for the flanges of a train car wheel to pass across the area there must be at least four inches of clearance between the inside of the rail and any plank. In this case the planks went practically all the way up to the rails so no car could pass this point without causing significant damage.
Fuji X-T1, ISO 200, 1/80ss, 18-55mm lens, f8 at 18mm.
