The town of Stockton, Missouri has a fall festival to celebrate the black walnut harvest.

cool shots that really captured the atmosphere !

re: the table with the rebel flag.....all those curios on the table look very cool. any reason why your focus point appears to be on the flag ? or did the sharpness not survive the upload ?....just curious since i've had my share of sharp shots that looked soft after uploading here

Just snapshots, don't overthink it. I was using a user pre-set which favors low ISO and therefore shallower depth-of-field. I probably should have worked at it a bit harder to move my focus deeper into the scene.

But yes, the Confederate flag does fit in with the Christian Motorcycle Club and the Amish girls to reflect the fact that in my part of the world the culture tends to be more religious, conservative, white, and Southern, especially in small towns. On the other hand, I do wish the rubber chicken was more in focus, too.

Any "softness" is due to my technique (or lack of it) and not the forum software. I am terrible at taking photos of people in public; I tend to try to grab the shot quickly before the person moves, or notices me aiming the camera at them, so my results are hit-or-miss as you have pointed out.
