    Very interesting.
    I had my XP2 & 50-140mm topple over onto tiled floor, ouch, and have since wondered if a video rig would with a bar or two more also serve as as a crash cage in future.

    I'm not trying to put the mockers on you! But if you reply "Yes, sure" then I might move on this

    I would invest in a heavier tripod. Attach the rig via the foot of the 50-140mm zoom. I have not seen a cage for the XP2 and would not expect it to make it crash proof in any case.
